LAWS 101A Legal History + Legislation
Instructors :
Location: Otago Polytech Lecture Theatre
Date: Friday 4th October 9 am – 4 pm
Tutor: Renee Black

Renee is in the fifth year of her law and politics degrees and has a keen interest in Indigenous and Māori Law issues – great for those of you looking for help with the legal history aspect of 101A! She is also skilled in legal writing, so for those of you needing help with Legislation she’s the person to see! Renee manages to handle five papers a semester while maintaining high grades and is a regular entrant into law faculty competitions. She has worked with loads of first year students, law students, and international students during her time here at Otago and is always available to lend them a helping hand. If she’s not to be found in the Richardson Library she’s probably spending too much money on Frankly sandwiches in the link, or she’s heading to the beach for a study break!
What is a workshop?
We are often asked, what do your workshops actually involve and why are they useful? At each workshop, you are provided with a full booklet of notes which have been handcrafted by our high-quality tutors. Throughout the day, the tutor will run through the booklet of notes explaining each concept and working through practise questions with you. Our workshops run from 9 am – 4 pm so we can help as many students as possible. However, we know that your time is valuable, so we try and get the trickier bits done early on.
We provide all of our students with a sushi lunch to keep you energised and focused.
These workshops are great if you feel confident about the paper to give you an overview of all the concepts so you can see which topics you don’t know as well. Or as a crash course if you have neglected your studies throughout the semester and need to get over the line!
At Comtutor, we know that your time is valuable, so we try and get the trickier bits done early on. We also stack you up with sushi for lunch so you feel refreshed for the second half of your day.
